Amy Lindenberger appearing at the Shriver House Museum
Award winning artist Amy Lindenberger will make a special appearance at the Shriver House Museum during their Candlelight Christmas tours on Saturday evenings, November 27th through December 11th, from 5 to 9 pm.
Amy Lindenberger is a signature member of the Colored Pencil Society of America. Her extraordinary colored pencil renderings offer a different perspective of life during the Civil War. Amy will be on hand to talk about her work and will also introduce a new illustration in her series of unique prints depicting a Civil War Christmas.
Most Civil War artwork deals with the "larger" dramas such as battles, generals, etc. But just as in our own era such larger-than-life experiences and people are the exception not the rule. Just as it does today, most of life's fabric in the mid-19th century consisted of quieter, less obviously dramatic moments. In the hope that these moments will not be overlooked or forgotten, Amy has captured some of the more personal moments of the Civil War.
The Shriver House Museum carries an extensive collection of Amy’s prints, notecards and Civil War Christmas cards.
The Shriver House Museum is located at 309 Baltimore Street, Gettysburg, PA 17325. For more information call 717-337-2800.
